CAIRO Online Support

General

• Why the name CAIRO?

• I need to print reports from a previous reporting period. How do I do this.
• I've entered my grades and/or typed my reports. When I run CAIRO later - they have disappeared! Help!

Administrative Functions

The following items are for system administrators

• I've added a new Subject but it does not appear in the list of available subjects for the current academic year.
• Why does cairo work for Power users and Administrators only?
• Each time I run CAIRO I get asked to provide the server name.
• When I run CAIRO I get a "Class Not Registered" error message and the program terminates
• When running Ternimal Services to provide remote access capability, when I run CAIRO I still get a "Class Not Registered" error message and the program terminates, even though the two .ocx files have been manually registered.

CAIRO Support Answers

Why does cairo work for Power users and Administrators only?

It doesn't! CAIRO works for normal users as well as those in the Windows [Power user] and [Administrator] user groups.

Depending upon your particular computer's setup you may get an error message when you run CAIRO as a normal user that does not appear when running with the privileges of a Power User or Administrator. To fix this, do the following:

• Log on to the PC as a normal user
• Run a Command Prompt with elevated privileges Either use the program menu to identify the menu that contains the Command Prompt (Start | All Programs | Accessories) or or you may have a shortcut to Command prompt on your desktop. Right-click on the Command Prompt item and select Run As... from the popup menu:

You will be asked for the name and password of a user: supply your system administrator's credentials.

Now Register the two components by typing the following two commands: (press enter at the end of each)

• regsvr32 C:\sds\CAIRO_850\binaries\TList7.ocx
• regsvr32 C:\sds\CAIRO_850\binaries\InnovaDSXP2.ocx

This is similar to the process also described here in response to the FAQ When I run CAIRO I get a "Class Not Registered" error message and the program terminates.
