How to Download Files from the CAIRO Website
Instigating Downloads
From here you can download the latest versions of the CAIRO client software and updates to the SQL Server database. Right-click on the required file and from the popup menu select (click on) the option: Save Target As... (as shown on the right). The exact phrase may vary according to the type and vintage of your browser; it might be Save Link As....
You are usually invited to save the data to a named file somewhere on your computer or network although some systems give you no choice and copy any downloaded file(s) to the current user's desktop.
Notes
- Some CAIRO files are supplied in a compressed format - use 7Zip (a free download from www.7zip.org) or similar package to decompress the file to its original format and size. (You may need an additional encryption key to unzip the file.)
- Documentation is supplied as Adobe PDF files. These files can be read using the free Adobe Reader software.
- Files marked * are for Authorised CAIRO users only and are password protected. If you are a CAIRO user and do not have the access user anme and/or password, contact SDS.
- In addition to the logon and password security mentioned above, any files in this download area that contain school information are supplied as .7z files with an encryption key. Each file has a different key and schools are advised of this via email or telephone. You will not be able to extract data from these files without the key.
