The database engine used by CAIRO is compatible with the following versions of the Windows Server Operating System:
CAIRO uses an industrial-strength database engine to hold the report data. This is the same family of software that is used by leading software houses in the education sector. CAIRO is fully compatible with both of the major relases of this system:
Database Engine Software:

SDS does not supply Microsoft SQL Server because we cannot obtain the huge discounts available to education establishments. Under typical Microsoft licencing agreements for schools, purchase of a licence to use SQL Server costs about £100.
