Introduction

CAIRO is a computer-based software system that simplifies the production of school reports.

Types of Report

The software deals with the input of school report data for the following types of report data:

CAIRO allows on-screen viewing and editing of school report data. When all data has been checked the printing of sorted and collated School Reports can be done for the current reporting period.

Types of Report

Tutor/Pastoral Reports

Each student typically has one Tutor Report per reporting period. These reports comprise between one and four text panels allowing report text from up to four separate contributors, arranged thus:

Tutor's Comment
Head of Year's Comment
Head of Section or Head of House's Comment
Head Teacher's Comment

Up to eight optional general comments, remarks or numbers. These are brief texts that have headings such as:
- Merits
- Demerits
- No. Times Absent
- No. Times Late
- Detentions
- D. of E. Award
There is a mechanism for importing any such values, including absences from a simple spreadsheet.

The number of contributors to this report is configurable by the CAIRO administrator.

Whilst preparing these reports, the tutor or head can:

Browse all available, subject, grades, extracurricular, adhoc and boarder reports reports for the current pupil, including those from previous reporting periods

If minor edits are necessary to correct spelling or grammar, these can be done by the tuor whilst browsing.
