CAIRO Customer Upload Area
Need to Send Data to SDS?
Use Simple Drag-and-Drop via the Web
You can use a simple and widely-available technology to upload files to SDS. You will need Internet Explorer version 5 or higher.
Click this link for instructions on how to enable WebDAV on your PC.

How to Use WebDAV
Run Windows Internet Explorer and do the following:
- Type the CAIRO website address into the address bar of the browser
- With the website on display, select: File then Open from the menu bar (Image 1)
- If you cannot see the File menu bar it is probably because it is disabled by default on later versions of Windows Explorer. To show the menu bar, right click on the bar adjacent to the address and select [Menu Bar] from the popup list of choices. (Image 2)
- In the File | Open dialog, you should (if you typed or selected it at the beginning of this process) be able to select the cairo website address from the dropdown history list. If so, select it and append the text: /Scratchpad to the address. If there is nothing in the history to select, just type the full address, including the http prefix, thus:
- http://www.cairo-online.co.uk/Scratchpad (Image 3)
- Make sure that you place a tick in the option labelled: Open as Web Folder
- Click [OK]
After a few moments, you should see a folder window open. This may be empty or may contain files and / or folders as shown below. You can now use Windows' "drag and drop" or Copy and Paste to move files to this folder. When you copy a file to this folder you are actually copying the file over the internet to the scratchpad area on the CAIRO website server.
By this means you can upload sizeable files (Such as Database Dumps) to SDS without the possibility of hitting limits on email attachment size.
Hint: Please use filenames that help us to identify your files from others (for example, by including your school's name in the file names). Better still, put your upload file(s) into a folder which has your school's name and then copy that folder.
